Biography

Victoria Ibiwoye is the Director of OneAfricanChild Foundation for Creative Learning, a youth-led organisation committed to redefining quality education for low-income community children through activity-based workshops, advocacy and empowerment programmes. Victoria’s passion for education has earned her a role as the Youth Representative to the SDG-Education 2030 Steering Committee, the global coordination mechanism for the education goal on SDG-4, mandated to play a key role in the global review of progress on education in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

She has participated in several high-level consultations to dialogue with education stakeholders and leaders to priortise education for all. She is also one of nine youth ambassadors of the UN Global Education Monitoring Report on its “Accountability in Education” campaign, calling on governments and education stakeholders to enforce the right to education in practice and national laws. She participated in drafting the final outcome of the Nairobi Declaration and Call to Action on Education adopted by the ministers of education to strengthen collaboration and commitment to quality education across Africa. Victoria believes that education can contribute to a new vision of sustainable global development and thus, she spends most of her time bridging the education and skills gaps as a youth facilitator and advocate. In 2017 and 2018, she was named as one of 100 Most Influential Young Africans by African Youth Awards.
