Ms. Sara Guerrini has almost 20 years of experience in the field of agronomical application of biodegradable materials at international level. Her experience includes: activities in the area of R&D on biodegradation and environmental impact of biodegradable materials for agriculture applications, as well as in the area of plant pathology, marketing research, coordination of R&D financed projects, activity in the area of standardisations for biodegradable plastics in agriculture, product manager for biodegradable products in the agriculture field. Ms Guerrini is author of several articles and scientific publications. In 2004 Ms Guerrini ended the Master Course “Management of agro-environmental systems” at the University of Bologna, focused on the study and the reduction of the main environmental impacts in agriculture. Ms Guerrini at present is Agriculture Public Affairs for Novamont Spa where she has been employed since 2000. In 1999 at the University Justus Liebig, in Giessen, Germany, she was researcher in the area of crop protection using low input techniques on wheat. Both at the University of Bologna, in Italy and at CRC for Viticulture/Waite Institute, University of Adelaide, Australia she was a researcher in phytopathology: epidemiological studies on insect vectors agent of phytoplasmas on pear tree using biotechnology and microscopy techniques. Sara is a member of the following professional associations: CIPA (Comité International des Plastiques en Agriculture), Assofertilizzanti (Italy), Association “Chimica Verde” (Italy). She also collaborates with UNI (Italy) and CEN CT/249, where she collaborated for the standardization on biodegradable mulch films.
