César Maldonado, originally from Mexico, is a chemical engineer by training currently pursuing a Masters at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education (specializing in sanitary engineering and urban water). He is a fellow of Rotary International and Young Water Solutions, an international non profit organization aiming to develop and support the potential of young people to contribute to universal water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and water resources management. Over the past few years, he has founded and runs CPlantae, a company that provides nature-based solutions for integrated water management in his country: state-of-the-art constructed wetlands, vermifilters for treating strong biodegradable effluents, restoration of eutrophized water bodies, natural swimming pools, etc.
